The total goals market is a football sports spread betting type where you either back or sell the amount of goals scored in a particular match. If you fancy many goals then you would back the total goals and if you thought it could be a goalless draw you would sell the total goals. If you have backed the total goals and the market is set at 1.6 – 1.8 you would start making a profit after the second goal of the game was scored as you would need to subtract 1.8 from the final score.
